Calculator inputs and browser storage

Calculations run in your browser. Our calculation code does not submit form values to an application server. Last-used inputs and your theme preference are stored in localStorage under keys beginning shipmargin:. Clearing this site's browser data removes them.

Scenario links

New scenario links store inputs after #calc?, the fragment of a URL. Browsers do not send that fragment as part of the initial HTTP request. Anyone with the complete link can read the scenario, and scripts running on the page can access the address. Do not put confidential customer or commercial information in a publicly shared link.

Older links used query parameters after ?. Those parameters are sent to the host when a link opens and may appear in access logs, browser history or copied links. The calculators still read those legacy links and write new scenario state into the fragment. A static website does not mean that URLs or network requests cannot be logged.

Hosting

Cloudflare serves the site and processes request information such as IP address, requested URL, time and browser headers to deliver and protect it. These network requests exist even though calculation arithmetic runs locally. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for its processing and retention information.

Analytics

When configured, Google Analytics 4 measures visits and two product actions: a calculator input was changed, and a scenario link was successfully copied. Our event payload includes the tool identifier, not the entered figures. The page address configured for Analytics omits query strings and fragments; referring addresses are also stripped of those parts.

Google may process device information, approximate location, network identifiers and cookie identifiers, according to consent and browser settings. Analytics cookies, when permitted, identify a browser across visits. Consent defaults deny analytics storage in the EEA, UK and Switzerland and deny advertising storage and personalisation signals globally. Consent Mode alone is not a consent interface.

You can block analytics requests with browser privacy controls, delete site cookies, or use Google's Analytics opt-out. Calculator arithmetic does not depend on Analytics.

Cloudflare Web Analytics may be loaded by our hosting service to measure visits and page performance. This is separate from Google Analytics and can operate independently of the site's own analytics configuration. Our event code does not send calculator form values to this service. Advertising

ShipMargin has configured a Google AdSense publisher account. Ad serving depends on Google's approval, account settings and the visitor's consent state. Google and its advertising partners may process cookies, network identifiers and device data to serve and measure ads. A configured publisher tag does not mean an ad is currently displayed.

Where applicable, consent must be managed through the site's Google-certified consent message. If a message is unavailable, the advertising consent defaults remain denied. You can also manage preferences at Google My Ad Center and read how Google uses information from partner sites. Ad blockers and browser controls may prevent third-party requests.

Contact messages and your choices

If you email us, your email provider and ours process your address, message and attachments. We use the message to respond or investigate a correction. Please redact invoices and omit credentials and personal customer information. Contact the publisher to request access, correction or deletion of information you have sent us; handling depends on applicable law and any necessary records.

We do not sell calculator input data or operate user accounts. Third-party retention and international processing follow the policies linked above. This policy will be updated when the site's handling changes.
