Use average inventory and the correct month
Storage is a volume and time cost. Enter the dimensions of a packaged unit, the average number of units held and the monthly rate from your storage report. Starting inventory is a poor substitute for the daily average when units sell through quickly. For mixed products, calculate each SKU separately and add the costs.
A worked storage budget
A packaged item measuring 22 × 16 × 6 cm occupies 2,112 cm³, or approximately 0.07458 ft³. At an illustrative $0.80 per cubic foot per month, 500 average units over three months cost about $89.50 before additional charges. Holding only 250 average units halves this volume-based cost; it does not necessarily halve ageing or utilisation surcharges.
Planning across a rate change
Do not use one rate across months that carry different charges. Calculate each month using its own rate and average inventory, then sum the totals. Enter actual ageing, utilisation and other storage charges in the separate field. The worksheet does not calculate an ageing schedule, dangerous-goods eligibility, removal cost or a marketplace tariff from the product dimensions.

No. The initial $0.80 value is an illustrative input. Replace it with the applicable rate for your inventory type, size category and month from Seller Central or your monthly storage report.
How do I calculate a quarter with changing rates?
Calculate one month at a time, using that month’s rate and average daily units. Add the resulting totals. A single rate and opening inventory cannot accurately represent a quarter with seasonal charges and rapid sales.
Are aged inventory fees included?
Only when you enter them under other storage charges. A single inventory count and duration cannot represent stock received on different dates; use your inventory age report to determine those charges separately.
