What are Etsy fees?

A $0.20 listing fee charged when the item sells and on every renewal, a 6.5% transaction fee on the order total including postage, and payment processing that varies by country — 3% plus $0.25 in the US. Many countries add a regulatory operating fee on top, from 0.29% in India to 2.27% in Turkey.

Does Etsy charge VAT on its fees?

Yes, to sellers who have not supplied a VAT number in the UK and EU. A UK seller paying 20% VAT on Etsy's fees has a materially higher effective cost than the headline percentages suggest, and cannot reclaim it. This is one of the few calculators that models it.

Can I avoid Offsite Ads fees?

Only below $10,000 in annual sales. Above that it becomes mandatory and you cannot opt out. The fee is 12% for mandatory shops and 15% for optional ones, capped at $100 per order, and it only applies when the sale came through an Etsy-placed ad.
